Changelog
All notable changes to FlowLance will be documented here.
The format is based on Keep a Changelog.

Fixed
- Dashboard language now actually works — Setting your dashboard language to French, German, Spanish, or US English now translates the sidebar and mobile navigation. The setting was being saved but ignored; it now takes effect immediately after you change it in Settings.
Changed
- Public proposal pages now respect language — When a client with a language preference opens a shared proposal link, the labels (PROPOSAL, Prepared for, Date, Budget Breakdown, Total, Prepared by) render in that language. Invoices and contracts already did this; proposals now match.
- More navigation items translate — Expenses, Clients, and Profile are now included in every language pack, so the whole sidebar translates — not just the items that were there before.

Added
- Redesigned Work page — The time and tasks pages have been combined into a single Work page with a clock face visualisation, draggable timeline, AI day planner, and integrated task management
- AI Day Planner — Get an AI-suggested daily plan based on your projects, tasks, and working patterns. Apply it with one click to pre-populate your timeline
- Plan slots — Structure your day with planned time blocks. Drag to reorder and resize. Complete blocks to log time against them
- Work stats dashboard — A new analytics section on the Work overview page shows your hours, billable percentage, activity breakdown, and goal progress over rolling 3-month periods. Step forward and back through periods to compare
- Activity heatmap — See your working patterns as a GitHub-style contribution heatmap on the Work overview page. Toggle between total hours and activity/billable views. Click any day to see its detail
- Work insights — AI-generated observations about your working patterns, time allocation, and productivity trends
- Contacts — A new Contacts section for managing individual people across your client organisations. Track contact warmth, link contacts to clients, and log interaction signals. Import contacts from CSV with automatic client matching
- CSV import for bank transactions — Import historical bank transactions from a CSV file. AI automatically categorises each transaction (type and category) for you to review before importing
- Transaction pagination — The transactions tab now loads data on demand with 25 transactions per page, search, and type filtering — no more capped at 100 records
- Expenses tab — Track receipt-based expenses and their cashflow status from the Cashflow page
- User Guide link — A link to guide.flowlance.io now appears in the site navigation, mobile menu, and footer
Changed
- Projects page redesigned — Projects now display as visual cards in a grid layout instead of a table. Each card shows time spent, budget progress, and status. Search, filter by status, and group by client or status
- Inline project status editing — Change a project's status directly from the list without opening the detail page
- Contacts import — The CSV import wizard now supports importing contacts with automatic client matching
- Polished proposals UI — Proposals list uses a cleaner table layout, and the creation wizard has improved styling
- Improved activity colours — Light mode now uses a curated palette of deeper, more distinctive colours (burnt sienna, saffron gold, deep sage, amethyst, and more) instead of stock chart colours
- Mobile menu improved — The marketing site's mobile menu now has a centred logo, better spacing, and includes a link to the User Guide
- Editable time entries — Click any time entry on the Work page to edit its details inline
- Calendar sync improvements — Google Calendar events are surfaced as time entry suggestions with improved matching
Fixed
- Quick log form — Fixed an issue where the quick log form would silently fail if no project or category was selected
- Invoice line item descriptions — Text areas now auto-expand for long descriptions instead of cutting off content
- Dialog overflow — Dialogs with dynamic content now handle long text properly with word wrapping

Added
- Invoice reminders — FlowLance can now automatically remind clients about upcoming and overdue invoices. Configure pre-deadline reminders (e.g. 7, 3, 1 days before due) and overdue follow-ups in Settings. Reminders run daily at 8am and send professional emails on your behalf
- Late payment escalation — Set up tiered surcharges for overdue invoices (e.g. 5% after 14 days, 10% after 30 days). When a surcharge is triggered, you're notified and asked to confirm before anything is sent to the client. A separate late-fee invoice is created automatically
- Pending escalations dashboard — A new card on your dashboard shows any escalations waiting for your approval. Confirm, cancel, or mark the invoice as paid directly from the card
- Letter Before Action — For invoices that have passed all escalation tiers, a guidance panel appears on the invoice detail page with a downloadable formal Letter Before Action (LBA) PDF and links to Money Claim Online
- Invoice reference field — Add an optional reference to invoices (e.g. a purchase order number). The reference appears on the invoice list, detail page, PDF, email, and public view
- Customisable invoice emails — When sending an invoice by email, you can now edit the subject line and message body before sending. Smart defaults are pre-filled using your business name and client details
- Quick Actions sidebar — The invoice detail page sidebar now has working buttons: Edit Invoice, Download PDF, View as Client, and Mark as Paid
- Payment terms on invoices — When you have escalation tiers configured, your late payment terms are automatically included on invoice PDFs and emails
- Payment terms in contracts — Use the
{{paymentTerms}}placeholder in contract templates to automatically include your late payment escalation terms - Reminder activity timeline — The invoice detail page timeline now shows all reminder and escalation activity: when reminders were sent, escalations triggered, and their outcomes
Changed
- Edit sent invoices — You can now edit invoices that have already been sent, not just drafts. Useful for correcting due dates, references, or line items after sending
- FlowLance Pro price reduced — The subscription price has been reduced from £15/month to £10/month
